Not Back to School

Our first day of this homeschool year was spent not doing school work and we loved it. We went to St Augustine and had a huge field trip visiting several historic sites like the Colonial Quarter, Pirate Museum and more. It was fun and educational.

On the second day of our school year we finally started with actual school work and so far it’s going great! This year we have added Spanish and Spirituality to our subject list. I plan to alternate between subjects throughout the week to keep the load light and allow plenty of time for play based learning.

Shammy thinks that the Life of Fred stories are so funny that I plan to get him the Life of Fred Reader books as well. With such a great first official day I feel very good about this school year.
