Saving money on homeschool curriculum

As I start to think ahead to the next school year. I feel a mixture of excitement and dread. Excitement because of how well homeschooling has worked so far but dread because we will no longer be in the “trying it out” period where it’s ok to mess up so the perfectionist in me feels more pressure and is less inclined to be so informal with unschooling.

At the same time I don’t want to limit our choices by purchasing a boxed curriculum that would cost a lot and may not work for us. So I have been trying to find cheap/free affordable resources that will cover the basic goals for the year and I will allow Shammy to determine the rest.
